This presentation is based on a longer piece that I wrote for English 472. In it, I discusses three of Vonnegut's novels,The Sirens of Titan, Cat's Cradle, and Salughterhouse-Five, in the hopes of bringing to light Vonnegut's humanism. While he's often labeled a cynic and a pessimist, I argue that his works can be surprisingly empowering and hopeful.
