For this presentation, I wanted to explore the differences between the novel Lolita and its film adaptations, and how these changes skewed the original story Nabokov intended to present. The way Hollywood adapted the novel changed the story from a chronicle of insanity to a romanticization of pedophilia. As Nabokov wrote in a personal essay, filmmakers missed the 'nerves' of the novel, the key points that earned it the title of his masterpiece.
